Lead Research Associate (Inkjet)

Location: Billerica, Massachusetts, United States; onsite five days per week

Salary: $70,400–$96,800 per year, plus annual bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Execute laboratory and pilot-scale experiments involving the synthesis, processing, characterization, and troubleshooting of aqueous pigment dispersions.
• Work with scientists and engineers to develop products, scale up processes, optimize operations, and support commercialization.
• Design and conduct experiments using high-throughput, robotics, and automated equipment, including AI and machine learning tools for experimental planning and data analysis.
• Generate, organize, analyze, and interpret experimental data, documenting results in electronic notebooks, reports, and presentations.
• Support equipment installation, modification, mechanical updates, automation, training, and safe operation of laboratory and pilot equipment.
• Follow intellectual property, safety, health, environmental, sustainability, and Responsible Care requirements.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field with laboratory or plant experience; or a bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of related experience; or an associate degree with 4+ years of related experience.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory and pilot-scale process equipment, process scale-up, and process safety.
• Experience with pigment dispersion, milling, or grinding processes is valuable for the role.
• Proficiency in Python or a similar programming language for data analytics, workflow automation, and advanced process control.
• Knowledge of laboratory methods, statistics, data interpretation, analytical problem-solving, and technical communication.
• Ability to work onsite in Billerica, Massachusetts five days per week.
