Lead Research Associate (Inkjet)

Location: Billerica, Massachusetts, United States; onsite five days a week

Salary: $70,400–$96,800 per year, plus annual bonus eligibility

What you will do

• Execute chemical and physical laboratory tests involving synthesis, processing, characterization, and troubleshooting of aqueous pigment dispersions.
• Work with scientists and engineers to plan and conduct experiments at laboratory and pilot scales.
• Design experiments using high-throughput, robotic, and automated equipment, including AI and machine learning tools for experimental planning and data analysis.
• Generate, organize, interpret, and communicate experimental data through reports, presentations, and electronic laboratory notebooks.
• Support laboratory and pilot equipment installation, modification, automation, and process scale-up.
• Maintain safety, intellectual property, Responsible Care, and environmental compliance while assisting with training and safety documentation.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a relevant field with laboratory or plant experience; or a bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of related experience; or an associate degree with 4+ years of related experience.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory and pilot-scale process equipment, laboratory procedures, testing methods, and safety practices.
• Knowledge of process scale-up, pigment dispersion, milling, or grinding processes.
• Proficiency in Python or a similar programming language for data analytics, workflow automation, and advanced process control.
• Strong statistical, analytical, observation, problem-solving, data organization, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Billerica, Massachusetts five days per week.
