Counsel (Fintech)

Location: US - Atlanta, GA; at least 3 days per week in the office

Salary: $203,800–$326,100 USD per year, with potential bonus and equity eligibility

What you will do

• Advise dispute resolution and other core payment product and service teams.
• Provide practical legal counseling on product development, risk, compliance, policies, communications, and escalations.
• Draft, negotiate, and complete complex commercial agreements while supporting relationships after execution.
• Lead legal review and approval of product marketing, public relations, presentation, and other team materials.
• Coordinate with business, technology, compliance, subject matter expert, and regional legal stakeholders.
• Develop legal guidelines, templates, and process improvements.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of relevant legal experience; 8 or more years preferred.
• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to a bar in good standing or eligibility for registered in-house counsel in the role's state.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, communication, analytical, client counseling, project management, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to understand technical aspects and use cases of software-based products and provide business-oriented advice.
• Ability to work in the Atlanta office at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with payments disputes or the payments, financial services, technology, or fintech industries.
• In-house, law firm, government, or regulatory experience.
• Litigation experience.
