Data Engineer

Location: New York City, hybrid

Base salary: $165,000–$190,000 per year, plus annual bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Build and maintain components of data pipelines moving healthcare data from customer EHR systems into Snowflake.
• Write production Python and SQL for extraction logic, transformations, and data quality checks.
• Contribute to core entity models and develop knowledge of the healthcare revenue cycle management domain.
• Debug data quality and pipeline issues through to root cause.
• Run owned components in production, participate in the on-call rotation, and resolve failures with support from senior engineers.
• Use AI coding tools such as Claude Code in system design, development, and code review.

Requirements

• 2+ years of software or data engineering experience with production code that can be explained in detail.
• Solid Python and SQL fundamentals, with an understanding of how data moves through systems.
• Exposure to a cloud warehouse, orchestration tool, or transformation framework.
• Strong debugging skills, openness to feedback, and clear judgment about technical knowledge and assumptions.
• Interest in working with messy and regulated healthcare data.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake, SQLMesh, dbt, Temporal, or AWS.
• Previous exposure to healthcare, claims, or other regulated data domains.
