Data Engineer with TS/SCI (AWS)

Salary: $140,000–$170,000 per year

What you will do

• Interpret business needs and design scalable data solutions in collaboration with business stakeholders, IT experts, subject-matter experts, and a government product owner.
• Design, develop, maintain, and optimize end-to-end data pipelines and robust dataflows from development through production.
• Implement data governance for shared and master data sets and maintain schemas, data dictionaries, and ETL transformation artifacts.
• Integrate pipelines with AWS services and datastores to support data analysis and meaningful insights.
• Improve infrastructure scalability, optimize data delivery, and automate manual processes.
• Provide Tier 3 support, document data capabilities, contribute to product roadmaps, and coordinate delivery with a product team of 7–8 FTEs.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Expertise with distributed computing frameworks for large-scale data processing.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud environments and data stores including PostgreSQL, S3, Redshift, MongoDB or DynamoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch or OpenSearch, and SQL.
• Proficiency with Python, pandas, PySpark, NiFi, Airflow, AWS Lambda or similar technologies, plus Docker, Kubernetes, JMS/SQS, SNS, and Kafka.
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments, Agile development, technical documentation or presentations, Jira, Confluence, and milestone coordination.
