Market and Competitive Intelligence Analyst (AI)

Location: Hybrid work near the Boston, Massachusetts; Toronto, Canada; or San Francisco, California offices. The role follows East Coast hours and may require in-person onboarding or identity verification.

Salary: $83,000–$148,830 annual base salary for U.S.-based roles; offers may exceed this range and may include bonuses, stock grants, and benefits.

What you will do

• Conduct market and competitive analysis across Manufacturing, AECO, and Media and Entertainment.
• Track AI developments, emerging technologies, competitors, startups, funding, talent movement, product releases, partnerships, research, and regulatory changes.
• Define target markets, map competitive landscapes, size opportunities, identify gaps, and test commercial assumptions with Research teams.
• Lead selected research and intelligence projects, coordinating contributors, timelines, discussions, and final deliverables.
• Synthesize qualitative and quantitative information into clear recommendations, executive-ready briefs, presentations, and market maps.
• Improve intelligence workflows, research systems, source quality, prioritization, and follow-through while using AI tools with appropriate human validation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in competitive intelligence, market research, business intelligence, strategy, or a related analytical field.
• Experience with market analysis, competitive research, market sizing, customer or expert research, or commercial opportunity assessment.
• Ability to independently lead projects or significant workstreams involving multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
• Strong analytical judgment, organization, writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Experience improving a process, workflow, or system and using structured research tools such as Airtable and market data platforms such as PitchBook, CB Insights, or Crunchbase.
• Professional experience using AI tools in research or analytical workflows, with judgment about when human verification or primary research is required; bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Manufacturing, AECO, or Media and Entertainment.
• Experience in research, incubation, innovation, product strategy, new business initiatives, customer discovery, market validation, go-to-market analysis, or business case development.
• Working knowledge of AI and machine learning concepts and their business implications.
• Experience with Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytical tools.
• MBA or equivalent business experience.
