BIM/CAD Technician (Transportation)

Location: Austin, Texas / Central Texas offices. Hybrid schedule with up to 40% remote work.

What you will do

• Provide design assistance to transportation engineers by producing 3D CAD models and construction plan sets.
• Prepare detailed layouts, drawings, and sketches for complex or original engineering designs.
• Review project requirements, scopes of work, deliverables, mark-ups, and applicable standards.
• Develop quality-control processes and ensure accurate, professional, and consistent project outputs.
• Coordinate with engineers, CAD personnel, subconsultants, and other internal groups.
• Guide and collaborate with CAD staff, contribute to continuous improvement, and potentially supervise CAD personnel.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in engineering design and technical engineering support.
• Experience with MicroStation.
• Ability to learn, adapt, and solve problems while producing accurate, high-quality deliverables.

Nice to have

• In-depth knowledge of OpenRoads Designer, GEOPAK, and/or InRoads.
• Associate degree in CAD.
