TL;DR
Warehouse Operations Management Trainee (Illinois) (Warehouse Operations/Supply Chain): Hands-on training across distribution center operations, management, purchasing, customer segments, and operational systems with an accent on leadership development, inventory operations, and distribution processes. Focus on learning warehouse methods, operating heavy machinery, completing classroom training in operations and financials, and presenting a six-month program project to senior management.

Location: On-site training in Aurora, Illinois or Madison, Illinois, United States. After completing the six-month program, relocation out of state is required with company-provided assistance. Travel is approximately 25%.

Salary: $28.85 per hour on a full-time schedule in Illinois and certain other listed states. Relocation or cost-of-living adjustments may also apply.

What you will do

  • Complete a six-month, hands-on management training program in a distribution warehouse.
  • Perform duties across operations, management, purchasing, and other distribution center functions.
  • Shadow experienced employees, contractors, builders, service and maintenance providers, and retail customers.
  • Attend classroom sessions covering operations, financials, leadership, human capital management, and operating systems at the EDGEucation Center in Plano, Texas.
  • Complete special operations projects and deliver a final presentation to senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in industrial distribution, supply chain management, management, operations, or a related discipline, with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
  • Leadership or problem-solving experience, or relevant internships, organizations, volunteer work, athletics, or military leadership.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a distribution warehouse and lead a team in a changing environment.
  • Ability to maneuver heavy machinery and lift products weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Willingness and ability to relocate during and after the program, including required out-of-state relocation after training.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time.

Nice to have

  • Bilingual English and Spanish skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn inventory and other software systems.
