Director, Operations (Manufacturing)

Location: Belvidere, Illinois, USA; onsite manufacturing plant and raw material warehouse campus

Salary: $156,100–$249,000 USD annually, plus eligible short-term and long-term variable incentives

What you will do

• Lead daily operations and continuous improvement across a multi-shift manufacturing facility and warehouse campus.
• Deploy the hirify.global Manufacturing System using lean principles, PDCA, and Managing for Daily Improvement to achieve safety, people, quality, delivery, cost, and cash targets.
• Establish standardized work, visual management, layered process audits, and daily problem-solving routines.
• Build a performance culture through leadership development, coaching, communication, training, cross-training, and succession planning.
• Develop long-range plans for capacity, capital equipment, technology, and workforce needs.
• Partner cross-functionally to align operational priorities with business strategy and growth plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience applying lean principles and techniques with demonstrated year-over-year improvement.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience managing teams in a discrete, industrial, or consumer capital goods manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading direct and dotted-line teams and managing diverse skills and functions.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain.
• Six or more years of lean implementation experience with measurable operational results.
• Lean, Operations, or Supply Chain certifications.
• Experience with automated manufacturing, equipment reliability, OEE, TPM, MES/MOM, Industry 4.0, Smart Factory initiatives, SAP, Kanban, and PFEP.
