Senior Network Escalation Engineer (Switching)

Location: Herndon, Virginia, United States; onsite five days per week from 9AM–5PM EST. Active TS/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.

Salary: $119,500–$275,000 annual base salary in Virginia, plus potential variable incentives.

What you will do

• Lead resolution of high-priority and executive-level customer escalations for Federal networking customers.
• Serve as a senior GovTAC escalation point for Juniper switching technologies and drive troubleshooting during Severity 1 incidents and production outages.
• Perform advanced root cause analysis using packet captures, logs, protocol behavior, and system diagnostics.
• Reproduce customer-reported issues in laboratory environments and collaborate with Engineering to identify defects and validate fixes.
• Develop mitigations, workarounds, corrective actions, technical documentation, and repeatable troubleshooting methodologies.
• Mentor engineers and advise customers and internal stakeholders during critical technical situations.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI security clearance at the time of hire and U.S. citizenship.
• Ability to work onsite five days per week in Herndon, Virginia, during EST business hours.
• 10+ years of enterprise networking experience in large-scale production environments, including 5+ years of switching experience.
• 5+ years in a senior escalation, TAC, Tier 3 Support, or Advanced Services role.
• Deep expertise with Juniper EX and QFX platforms, EVPN/VXLAN, BGP, OSPF, Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, and data center fabrics.
• Advanced packet analysis, protocol troubleshooting, root cause analysis, laboratory reproduction, and Engineering collaboration experience.

Nice to have

• Python or network automation experience.
• JNCIP, JNCIE, CCNP, or CCIE certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
