Health & Safety Technician I

Location: Rocklin, California, United States; field-based role supporting crews and jobsite activities.

Salary: USD $83.46 per hour.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary safety resource for distribution line crews, troubleshooters, inspectors, and contractors.
• Conduct routine and targeted field safety observations, identify hazards, document findings, and coach employees on safe work practices.
• Support job hazard analyses, tailboards, switching procedures, and planning for energized work, crane lifts, confined spaces, and other high-risk activities.
• Lead incident investigations, root-cause analyses, and corrective-action development for incidents, near misses, and rule violations.
• Participate in safety audits, regulatory inspections, readiness reviews, storm response, and after-action assessments.
• Partner with leadership on safety trends, emerging risks, training needs, human performance, safety management systems, and field ergonomics.

Requirements

• Experience or capability in field safety observations and documentation.
• Ability to coach and mentor employees and contractors on safe work practices.
• Knowledge of OSHA, CPUC General Orders GO 95/128, PG&E safety standards, and applicable policies and procedures.
• Ability to support high-risk work planning, safety audits, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
• Ability to work in the Rocklin, California area and perform recurring in-person field duties.
