TL;DR
Subsystem Test Engineering Intern (Aerospace): Developing, building, analyzing, and operating test assets for supersonic vehicle subsystems with an accent on mechanical, fluid, electrical, and structural testing. Focus on designing test fixtures, creating CAD models and manufacturing plans, executing tests, collecting data, and troubleshooting test systems.

Location: On-site in Atlanta, GA or Los Angeles, CA

What you will do

  • Design, build, maintain, and improve test assets, facilities, fixtures, rigs, tooling, adapters, and supporting hardware.
  • Develop test plans, procedures, protocols, instrumentation requirements, and safety margins for vehicle subsystems.
  • Create CAD models, engineering drawings, and manufacturing plans for test components and flight-like hardware.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, technicians, and build teams to track hardware, troubleshoot issues, and prepare tests.
  • Operate and troubleshoot fluid, mechanical, and electrical test systems, including pumps, valves, regulators, tubing, fittings, and high-voltage components.
  • Execute tests, collect data, document results and hardware changes, and identify improvements to testing methods and infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a STEM program at an accredited college or university as a third- or fourth-year undergraduate student or as a Master's or Ph.D. student.
  • Practical experience designing, building, and testing vehicles through internships, studies, or projects.
  • Strong interest in testing and understanding of engineering first principles.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Must qualify as a U.S. person or be eligible for deemed export licensing under U.S. export control regulations.
