TL;DR
Production Associate – Mechanical Assembly / Final Assembly (Mechanical Manufacturing): Assembling mechanical components for rugged, high-quality, small-batch products with an accent on mechanical drawings, BOMs, torque tools, and workmanship requirements. Focus on applying adhesives, supporting yield improvements, maintaining traceability through SAP and MES systems, and following formal health and safety procedures.

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; onsite manufacturing role. The position is scheduled from 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 midnight and may require support for three-shift rotations.

Salary: CAD 38,200–50,900 annually, plus a 10% shift premium.

What you will do

  • Operate production equipment according to schedules, procedures, and health and safety requirements.
  • Assemble mechanical components onto products using drawings and bills of materials.
  • Apply adhesives and underfill materials as required.
  • Complete production logs, reports, and material-handling duties.
  • Recommend process changes and support yield improvements through continuous improvement projects.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workstation according to 6S principles and contribute to safety activities when required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in mechanical assembly, with mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
  • Knowledge of defect recognition and workmanship requirements.
  • Experience in a PWB assembly or box-build environment.
  • Familiarity with mechanical drawings, torque tools, formal procedures, and supporting documentation.
  • Working knowledge of SAP and personal computers; ability to lift normal process supplies.

Nice to have

  • Previous manufacturing experience, especially 0–2 years.
  • Experience supporting health and safety committees or spill-response activities.
