Postdoc Oral Lipid-Based Formulations

What you will do

• Develop an advanced in vitro characterization toolbox for lipid-based formulations, combining dissolution, lipolysis, precipitation or crystallization, mucus penetration, and permeation readouts.
• Assess downscaling and high-throughput approaches for lipolysis and dissolution-permeation workflows.
• Design and optimize lipid formulation strategies for oral delivery of beyond-rule-of-five drug candidates.
• Support in vivo translation through rat pharmacokinetic, lymphatic transport, and mechanistic studies.
• Present scientific outcomes internally and at scientific forums, and contribute to manuscripts and publication strategy within IP guidelines.

Requirements

• PhD or near completion in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Bioengineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Independent experience designing and executing experimental research, including literature review, planning, laboratory work, data analysis, and reporting.
• Experience with lipid-based formulations and/or biopharmaceutics tools connecting formulation behavior with delivery potential.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills and scientific output such as publications, presentations, or patents.
• Willingness to work on-site in Beerse, Belgium with hands-on laboratory activities.

Nice to have

• Experience with lipolysis or digestion models, dissolution-permeation methods, PAMPA variants, mucus assays, precipitation or crystallization analytics, or phase characterization.
• Familiarity with lipid-based formulation optimization and in-silico tools such as COSMO.
• Exposure to translational modeling, PBPK or PK, oral absorption, or lymphatic transport studies.
