Senior Scientist, Process Chemistry (Organic Chemistry)

Location: Beerse, Antwerp, Belgium; onsite

Salary: €75,500–€117,300 base pay annually, plus bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Invent synthetic routes and chemical processes for active pharmaceutical ingredients.
• Support projects through different stages of process development, from laboratory work to manufacturing.
• Design and translate chemistry into robust, sustainable, safe, and economical large-scale processes.
• Design, conduct, and interpret scientific experiments independently.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, crystallization specialists, safety experts, pilot plants, and commercial production teams.
• Help accelerate drug candidates by enabling supply for clinical trials, registration, and commercialization.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in organic chemistry or a related field with 4+ years of professional experience in process chemistry, or a PhD with 2+ years of experience.
• Strong foundation in organic chemistry and chemical process development.
• Hands-on laboratory experience and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to plan, coordinate, and prioritize multiple activities independently.
• Strong collaboration skills in multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluent English and dedication to safety, quality, and compliance standards.

• Post-doctoral experience.
• Expertise in modern analytical and laboratory techniques.
