Automotive Senior Technician (Automotive)

Pay range: $19.57–$33.56 per hour, with performance-based flat-rate compensation.

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel, ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air-conditioning, and computer systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and required repairs to customers without mechanical backgrounds.
• Stay current with automotive technology through paid formal training.
• Assist with and train technicians and mechanics on technical activities.
• Obtain or maintain A.S.E. certification in at least three of the A1–A8 areas within the first two years.

Requirements

• Valid automobile driver’s license required at all times, with the ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
• Demonstrated skill with brake and hydraulic systems, and/or steering, suspension, and alignments.
• Experience with general automotive maintenance and tire repair.
• Current applicable federal, state, and local certifications or licenses.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people, plus reading, writing, and math skills.
• Employment eligibility verification is required; temporary work authorization or the need for sponsorship may disqualify candidates.

Nice to have

• Three years of automotive repair experience, relevant third-party assessments or certifications, or completion of a vocational-technical program.
• A.S.E. certification in at least one A1–A8 area; L1 certification is also acceptable.
