Associate, Primary Investments (Private Equity)

Location: Boston, MA, United States; hybrid arrangement. The role provides 18 remote workdays per quarter with manager approval and requires regular office attendance.

Base salary: $140,000–$150,000 USD annually, plus a discretionary annual bonus and potential long-term rewards and benefits.

What you will do

• Perform due diligence on private equity, growth equity, and venture capital managers and fund opportunities.
• Prepare performance analytics, benchmarking analyses, portfolio company underwriting, and independent research.
• Source and evaluate new fund opportunities, develop investment theses, and present findings to senior professionals and the global Investment Committee.
• Monitor primary fund investments through meetings, reports, and portfolio update calls while building relationships with fund managers.
• Complete industry research, market updates, client materials, and special projects, including preparation for annual and client meetings.
• Refer and assist with the initial assessment of direct equity, credit, and secondary investment opportunities.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience in manager research, investment consulting, investment banking, or related financial services.
• Strong quantitative skills and deep experience with Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong work ethic, leadership ability, maturity, and capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably with coursework in finance, business, or accounting.
