Primary Care Regional Medical Director

Location: MelroseWakefield Healthcare, 888 Main Street, Wakefield, MA 01880

Base salary: $260,000–$290,000 annually, with additional compensation based on leadership experience.

What you will do

• Lead primary care practices in the Melrose/Wakefield market across quality, patient experience, access, growth, and financial stewardship.
• Supervise physicians and advanced practice clinicians, support staff engagement, and oversee day-to-day clinical and business operations.
• Recruit and retain physicians and advanced practice clinicians, including planning for temporary provider staffing.
• Drive evidence-based quality improvement, performance measurement, population health outcomes, and value-based contracting results.
• Optimize access through team-based care, telehealth, efficient scheduling, and panel management strategies.
• Partner with executive leadership, regional specialists, and the clinically integrated network to implement medical, business, and organizational strategies.

Requirements

• Tenured primary care physician with the experience and judgment to lead primary care practices.
• Experience leading physicians, nurse practitioners, and other clinical staff.
• Ability to manage competing demands, organizational change, and complex problem-solving.
• Strong collaboration skills for working with executives, providers, specialists, management, and staff.
• Commitment to patient care, service excellence, accountability, and community engagement.
