Assistant Vice President (AVP) – Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) Origination & Credit Analysis

Location: New York, NY, United States

Annual base salary: $135,000–$160,000, with potential eligibility for a discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Support origination and execution across a broad range of asset-backed securities asset classes, including esoteric sectors.
• Perform corporate, financial, and credit analysis of issuers and counterparties.
• Evaluate transaction structures, collateral quality, performance, and securitization features.
• Support client coverage across a portfolio of ABS clients and prospective issuers.
• Prepare credit memoranda, transaction analyses, market updates, and presentation materials.
• Collaborate with banking, risk management, product control, and other internal partners throughout the deal lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in ABS, structured finance, securitized products, credit analysis, or corporate banking.
• Strong understanding of securitization structures and capital markets.
• Experience analyzing financial statements and corporate credit profiles.
• Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in a bank ABS, structured finance, or securitized products platform.
• Exposure to both origination and risk management functions.
• Knowledge of esoteric ABS asset classes.
• Strong Excel and financial modeling skills.
