Research Engineer (EUV)

Location: On-site in San Diego, California, United States; primarily second shift, generally 15:00–24:00

Salary: $125,600–$172,700 base annual salary

What you will do

• Prepare and demonstrate developed technology on research EUV light-source prototype machines.
• Develop procedures, troubleshooting activities, action plans, and closed-loop issue management for system problems.
• Support the integration and upgrades of new machine modules, including PERT activities and test plan reviews.
• Translate test plans into execution sequences, run test campaigns, collect data, and review conclusions.
• Collaborate with scientists and cross-functional engineering teams to support research objectives.
• Prepare technical and progress reports and presentations for management and internal or external customers.

Requirements

• MS with at least 3 years of experience, or BS with at least 5 years of experience, in optics, opto-mechanics, electrical/photonics engineering, physics, mechanical engineering, or a related science discipline.
• Experience in technical engineering roles and familiarity with the development process from requirements through design, assembly, and testing of mechanical or opto-mechanical assemblies.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting ability in individual and team settings.
• Ability to analyze data statistically, document issues clearly, and communicate through written and graphical formats.
• Ability to work on-site in San Diego and primarily on second shift, with flexibility to support first- or third-shift activities when required.
• Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access United States-controlled technology under applicable export regulations before beginning work.

• Experience with EUV light sources, particularly as a generalist.
