Salary: $72,000–$85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications

Company

hirify.global is an early-stage biotechnology company developing genomics and molecular detection platforms that integrate molecular biology, chemistry, and systems engineering.

What you will do

  • Build, characterize, and iterate on prototype instruments, consumables, flow cells, reagent cartridges, and sample preparation modules.
  • Design and execute integration tests across fluidics, electronics, instrumentation, assay chemistry, and molecular workflows.
  • Characterize fluorescence-based detection systems and analyze signal intensity, background, specificity, sensitivity, and reproducibility.
  • Design DOEs to optimize surface chemistry, coating uniformity, stability, reproducibility, and lot-to-lot consistency.
  • Troubleshoot failure modes, conduct root-cause investigations, and support CAPA activities, design-for-manufacturability, and design-for-reliability.
  • Maintain protocols, technical reports, batch records, design history files, and regulatory documentation while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory teams.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or a related field, with 3–5 years of relevant industry experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience developing early prototype systems, working with immature hardware, ambiguous specifications, and iterative design cycles.
  • Hands-on experience characterizing consumables, fluorescence imaging or spectroscopy, and fluidic or flow cell-based systems.
  • Experience in a regulated environment with GMP, ISO 13485, FDA design controls, design history files, and quality-system documentation.
  • Working knowledge of nucleic acid extraction and purification, PCR or isothermal amplification, and sample preparation workflows.
  • Strong laboratory, troubleshooting, documentation, data analysis, and cross-functional communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience developing in vitro diagnostics, molecular diagnostics, or point-of-care platforms.
  • Experience with automated liquid-handling systems, whole-blood sample handling, or blood-based sample stabilization.
  • Experience supporting verification and validation or manufacturing transfer.
  • Statistical analysis experience with JMP, Minitab, Python, or R.

Culture & Benefits

  • Collaborative, cross-functional R&D environment focused on scientific rigor and hands-on innovation.
  • Opportunity to contribute to foundational genomics and molecular detection platform development in an early-stage company.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Company-paid life insurance and a 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Generous paid time off plus voluntary benefits, employee perks, and discount programs.
