Clinical Operations Financial Analyst

Location: Plymouth, Minnesota, US; in-office

Salary: $50,000–$57,000 annually

What you will do

• Review and reconcile clinical trial site payment requests against agreements, budgets, study visits, and milestones.
• Coordinate with Clinical Operations, Finance, Accounts Payable, CROs, vendors, and investigative sites to resolve payment and invoice issues.
• Track site payments, reimbursable costs, payment status, aging, outstanding balances, and audit-ready documentation.
• Support clinical trial budgets, forecasts, accruals, cost projections, and budget-to-actual variance analysis.
• Prepare reports on clinical trial spend, remaining budgets, cost per patient, and cost per site.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end schedules, and reporting while improving manual financial processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 1–3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or financial analysis.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, data analysis, and work with large datasets.
• Experience reconciling financial data across multiple sources and managing recurring payment and month-end deadlines.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, communication, independent work, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in-office in Plymouth, Minnesota, US.

Nice to have

• Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, clinical research, or life sciences.
• Experience with clinical trial agreements, site budgets, investigator payments, or CRO financial management.
• Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice and clinical trial operations.
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems, CTMS, EDC, or clinical payment platforms.
• Experience with accruals, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
