TL;DR
Quality Assurance Engineer (Program & Project Delivery) (Nuclear Energy/AI): Supporting enterprise quality programs and nuclear deployment projects across procedures, quality records, metrics, supplier assurance, and audits with an accent on ASME NQA-1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, and cross-functional quality integration. Focus on developing audit-ready procedures and records, coordinating quality requirements across design, procurement, construction, and testing, and following corrective actions through completion.

Location: Columbia, South Carolina, United States

Salary: $120,000–$150,000 annually, paid semi-monthly.

What you will do

  • Support development, implementation, and maintenance of the enterprise quality program, including the QAPD and supporting procedures.
  • Develop and maintain QA procedures and program documents with subject-matter experts across functions.
  • Integrate quality requirements into greenfield and brownfield deployment projects across design, procurement, construction, and testing.
  • Maintain quality records and objective-evidence practices to keep the program complete, retrievable, and audit-ready.
  • Establish and report QA metrics, trends, and program status for leadership decision-making.
  • Support internal and supplier assessments, audits, surveillances, corrective actions, and cross-functional QA coordination.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of quality assurance experience, typically 5–10 years.
  • 3+ years working under ASME NQA-1 and/or 10 CFR 50 Appendix B programs.
  • Strong technical writing skills for procedures, reports, and quality records.
  • Hands-on experience in at least two QA functions, such as procedures, document control, records, audits, supplier quality, project quality, or corrective action.
  • Strong organization, self-management, EDMS proficiency, and Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical discipline, or equivalent QA experience.

Nice to have

  • Experience with nuclear plant design, construction, or commissioning, including AP1000, SMR/MMR, or other new-build programs.
  • Audit team participation, auditor training, ASQ CQA certification, or NQA-1 Lead Auditor certification.
  • Corrective-action, operating-experience, metrics, dashboard, Excel, or Power BI experience.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 19443, ERP/MES systems, and standard quality tools.
  • Experience in startup or first-of-a-kind environments and interest in progressing toward a lead auditor or senior lead role.
