Quality Operations Specialist (QA/QC)

Location: Hybrid/remote from the United States with periodic travel to the project site in Newport, Oregon. On-site periods involve field work outdoors, at heights, and in confined spaces in accordance with OSHA requirements.

Salary: USD $108,396–$135,495 annually.

What you will do

• Develop and implement quality activities across assessments, surveillance, non-conformances, corrective actions, and continual improvement.
• Review project and client specifications, identify quality requirements and control points, and develop Inspection and Test Plans and site quality forms.
• Coordinate welding, QA/QC, inspection, testing, and NDE activities across design, procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning.
• Maintain quality records, project deliverables, qualification records, turnover documentation, and handover dossiers.
• Track project quality performance and prepare weekly and monthly reports for operations and quality management.
• Advise project teams on QA/QC matters and support audits, certifications, training, and corrective action investigations.

Requirements

• 7+ years of QA/QC experience on industrial or heavy construction projects, including storage tanks, pressure vessels, piping, or structural steel.
• Experience with quality documentation, records and QMS management, project turnover, non-conformance tracking, and corrective/preventive actions.
• Knowledge of welding and NDE methods and applicable codes and standards, including ASME, API, AWS, ASTM, AWWA, ASNT SNT-TC-1A, and ISO 9001.
• Ability to review specifications, develop ITPs, maintain quality records, and ensure compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
• Degree in welding, engineering, metallurgy, or a related technical field is preferred but not required; relevant field experience and certifications may substitute.
• Ability to travel periodically to Newport, Oregon and perform outdoor, elevated, and confined-space field work during on-site periods.

Nice to have

• AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification.
• Knowledge of VT, MT, PT, SFT, UT, and RT NDE methods and personnel qualification requirements.
• Hydrotest, coating and paint inspection, concrete and foundation quality control experience.
