Intern Engineering NIPSCO - Generation

Location: Wheatfield, IN or Michigan City, IN; candidates must reside within 50 miles of the reporting location and work 40 hours per week onsite during the summer.

Salary: $18.80–$31.70 per hour

What you will do

• Support power generation engineering activities and provide engineering and procedure support.
• Manage permits, job orders, material procurement, invoices, material tracking, and project close-out packets.
• Maintain project files and support planning, estimating, scheduling, risk analysis, agreements, and reimbursements.
• Assist with bid packets, contractor selection, and project management for gas transmission, distribution, and other high-profile facilities projects.
• Support NERC and CIP compliance training, course content development, and related systems and software.
• Follow applicable codes, standards, ethics policies, and safety requirements while collaborating with peers and industry partners.

Requirements

• Current student pursuing a four-year degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Education, or Technology, with at least one year of undergraduate study completed.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Proficiency with PC applications; strong MS Excel and Access skills are preferred.
• Strong planning, organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future.
• Valid in-state driver's license required upon hire.
