Senior Manager, Controls Engineering

Location: Marion, North Carolina, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $152,000–$209,000 annually, with potential eligibility for discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

• Lead strategic planning for the North Cove Controls Engineering organization and manage engineering resources, headcount, operating budgets, and capital budgets.
• Develop multi-site engineering, automation, optimization, and digital manufacturing strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop engineering teams through goal setting, succession planning, and technical cross-training.
• Improve OEE, throughput, process reliability, equipment performance, process capability, and manufacturing efficiency across multiple facilities.
• Direct capital projects, automation upgrades, equipment modernization, robotics, industrial networking, analytics, and Industry 4.0 deployments.
• Standardize controls architectures, programming standards, cybersecurity, documentation, project execution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Controls, Automation, Mechanical, Chemical, or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 8 years of relevant controls, automation, manufacturing, or engineering experience.
• At least 4 years of technical management and leadership experience, including cross-functional leadership, resource and budget management, and project execution.
• Experience leading capital projects, automation implementations, controls system upgrades, and OEE improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of controls engineering, industrial automation, manufacturing technologies, project management, engineering performance metrics, and process optimization.
• Understanding of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, industrial networks, motion control, robotics, machine vision, data analytics platforms, and manufacturing control architectures.
