Associate Scientist II, Immunoassay Development (Biotech)

Location: San Carlos, California, United States; onsite at least 4 days per week

Salary: $105,000–$123,000 per year in the San Francisco Bay Area

What you will do

• Execute immunoassays for potency, antigenicity, identity, impurity, characterization, comparability, release, stability, and development-stage testing.
• Support assay development, optimization, platform evaluation, routine testing, method transfer, validation readiness, and lifecycle activities.
• Prepare reagents, buffers, samples, plates, beads, controls, and reference materials for testing.
• Generate and summarize standard curves, sample responses, dilution responses, recovery, precision, assay controls, and system suitability data.
• Support troubleshooting studies by conducting experiments, documenting observations, organizing data, and communicating findings.
• Maintain reagent and reference material inventories, laboratory records, ELN entries, assay worksheets, and data summaries.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Immunology, Analytical Chemistry, Biological Sciences, or a related field with at least 2 years of relevant biopharmaceutical laboratory experience; or a master’s degree with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience with immunoassays, ligand-binding assays, analytical testing, bioanalytical testing, or related biological assay workflows.
• Experience with assay execution, reagent and sample preparation, plate- or bead-based setup, instrument operation, data analysis, assay controls, and documentation.
• Familiarity with ELISA, MSD, electrochemiluminescence, bead-based, multiplex, or other ligand-binding assay technologies.
• Ability to follow protocols, execute experiments carefully, communicate observations clearly, and manage multiple laboratory tasks and timelines.
• Commitment to laboratory safety, data integrity, documentation quality, and good laboratory practices.
