Director, Medical Information / Scientific Communications (Biotech)

Location: Remote role associated with Woburn, Massachusetts, United States; willingness to travel required.

Base pay: $208,500–$265,500 annually, plus performance incentive bonus, new-hire equity, and ongoing performance-based equity.

What you will do

• Lead the Medical Information and Scientific Communications team and manage day-to-day activities, hiring, mentoring, and strategic direction.
• Develop and maintain the medical information strategy, including standard response letters, FAQs, databases, policies, guidelines, and SOPs.
• Oversee call center training, work instructions, handling guides, and responses to medical inquiries, including escalated medical and access questions.
• Review promotional and scientific materials through the Medical Legal Review committee and support scientific conferences.
• Oversee field medical, market access, and drug compendia resources in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
• Manage medical information vendors and collaborate with pharmacovigilance, quality, regulatory, legal, clinical development, commercial, and field medical teams.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in the sciences required: MD, PhD, or PharmD.
• At least 5 years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience, including a minimum of 3 years in Medical Information or Medical Communications.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory and ethical guidelines, drug development, medical affairs, patient safety, and commercial activities.
• Experience translating medical and scientific strategies into systems, tools, and processes such as Veeva Vault and CRM.
• Proven leadership, team-building, communication, diplomacy, prioritization, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work with thought leaders and key decision-makers while delivering continuous improvement and operational results.
