Senior Technical Specialist (IP & Security)

Location: 100% onsite at the hirify.global Network Operations Centre in Macquarie Park, Sydney, Australia. Work pattern: rotating morning, afternoon, and night shifts for 24x7 coverage, or Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm.

What you will do

• Resolve complex IP and security network faults beyond the Managed Service scope and manage critical incident escalations.
• Lead root cause analysis, implement permanent corrective actions, and participate in change governance and Change Advisory Board meetings.
• Recommend and approve network design changes, network upgrades, and deployments supporting new technologies and products.
• Collaborate with Engineering, equipment vendors, and Managed Service Suppliers on operational processes, architecture standards, and technical supportability.
• Monitor KPIs and SLAs, identify performance gaps, and coordinate resolution with stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement through automation of incident management and alarm handling.

Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting multi-vendor IP and security networks in Tier 2 or Tier 3 environments.
• Strong knowledge of service provider network design, routing and switching, and security practices.
• Strong understanding of DDoS protection, detection, and mitigation.
• High proficiency in IP/MPLS technologies, including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and Segment Routing.
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting large-scale IP/MPLS networks in service provider environments.
• Network automation experience with Python and Ansible is desirable; Cisco CCNP SP or equivalent vendor certifications are desirable.
