Senior Virtualization Engineer (VMware/OpenShift)

Location: Remote - Australia; occasional onsite vendor escorting may be required, with travel and accommodation provided.

What you will do

• Install, configure, maintain, and manage on-premises VMware and OpenShift clusters.
• Monitor cluster performance, troubleshoot issues, and maintain high availability.
• Manage OpenShift user access and permissions.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment.
• Optimize applications running on OpenShift in collaboration with development and operations teams.
• Perform VMware-to-OpenShift conversions and maintain platform documentation.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as an OpenShift Administrator or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of OpenShift and Kubernetes architecture and components.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and other containerization technologies.
• Proficiency in Bash, Python, or Groovy scripting.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and processes, plus networking in containerized environments.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• OpenShift or Kubernetes certifications.
• VMware certifications.
