What you will do

• Monitor print, online, broadcast, radio, and social media outlets for MSG mentions and relevant industry news.
• Track, format, and distribute media clips for sports, entertainment, venues, networks, corporate, and other business groups.
• Monitor sports and entertainment reporters on X and upload relevant clips to Meltwater according to formatting guidelines.
• Prepare news analytics, including reach and media value, and create media briefs based on department specifications.
• Research communications topics and potential pitching opportunities, including transcribing interviews and broadcast segments.
• Provide backup coverage for other News Services staff and support guests, partners, and team members while onsite.

Requirements

• Previous media monitoring experience.
• Advanced knowledge of and passion for sports, particularly tri-state area teams.
• Ability to accurately and urgently evaluate news, identify trends, and anticipate potential issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
• Public relations or journalism experience, strong computer skills, and meticulous attention to detail and formatting.
• Ability to work onsite in New York City and work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Nice to have

• Corporate communications experience in media, entertainment, news, or sports, or agency experience with related clients.
• Experience with Meltwater, Muck Rack, Critical Mention, or similar media monitoring tools.
