Data Platform Architect (Databricks/Palantir Foundry)

Location: Falls Church, VA, United States; Workplace: On-site. Secret or Top Secret clearance required.

What you will do

• Provide hands-on architectural guidance for data pipelines, data products, analytics workflows, and AI/ML capabilities in Databricks and Palantir Foundry.
• Define technical standards, reusable templates, reference architectures, and implementation patterns for reliable and supportable production solutions.
• Guide DataOps, DevOps, MLOps, CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, observability, rollback, data quality, and operational handoff practices.
• Design integrations for enterprise data sources, APIs, streaming platforms, data warehouses, BI tools, and MAVEN Smart Systems/Palantir Foundry environments.
• Establish secure access controls, governance, metadata, lineage, auditability, and compliant handling of structured and unstructured data.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, BI analysts, product managers, security teams, and mission stakeholders to resolve architecture, integration, performance, and reliability issues.

Requirements

• 5+ years of technical experience, including 3+ years designing or implementing production solutions on Databricks, Palantir Foundry, or similar modern data platforms.
• Strong experience with Python, SQL, PySpark, and Spark SQL for scalable data-processing workflows.
• Experience developing and operationalizing data pipelines, transformation workflows, governed data products, lineage, and analytics for structured and unstructured data.
• Hands-on knowledge of Databricks capabilities such as Delta Lake, Workflows, MLflow, and Unity Catalog.
• Experience with DataOps, DevOps, and MLOps practices, including CI/CD, version control, testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational support.
• Secret or Top Secret clearance and on-site work in Falls Church, VA are required.

Nice to have

• Deep Databricks expertise, including medallion architecture, Delta optimization, workload tuning, cluster and job strategy, and production ML enablement.
• Experience with Git-based CI/CD, infrastructure and deployment tooling, cloud-native platforms, and secure cross-platform interoperability.
• Experience supporting model packaging, registration, deployment, monitoring, and inference workflows.
• Experience with Advana/MAVEN Smart System or similar Department of Defense analytics environments.
• Prior experience supporting Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, or other federal mission environments.
