TL;DR

Location: Onsite in Denver, Colorado; Phoenix, Arizona; Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Chattanooga, Tennessee; Windham, New Hampshire; East Syracuse, New York; Marshalltown, Iowa; Decatur, Illinois; Pasadena, Texas; or Salt Lake City, Utah.

Salary: $75,000–$155,000 per year, paid weekly and based on experience and location.

What you will do

  • Prepare cost estimates for transmission, distribution, and substation electrical construction projects.
  • Develop production assumptions using prior bidding and project history, and track labor hours and costs.
  • Attend field job walks, pre-bid meetings, and job-site visits to assess constructability requirements.
  • Identify suppliers and subcontractors, complete material takeoffs, and solicit pricing and proposals.
  • Prepare commercial proposal elements, including work plans, clarifications, and exceptions.
  • Lead estimate reviews, estimating teams, bidding activities, and support the training of other estimators.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of estimating experience for Estimator I, 5 years for Estimator II, or 10 years of electrical construction estimating experience for Senior Estimator.
  • High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a similar field is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret construction and electrical drawings and understand electrical materials and installation methods.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications and strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under time pressure, and operate independently and collaboratively.
  • Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
