Senior Test Engineer (Cypress)

Location: Manchester, United Kingdom; hybrid working with a minimum of 50% of working time per month in the office and an initial full-time office period.

What you will do

• Test customer applications across UI, APIs, back-office workflows, third-party systems, integrations, and end-to-end journeys.
• Interpret business, functional, and technical requirements and apply knowledge of financial-services products and legislation.
• Design and implement test automation approaches alongside Technical Leads and other testers.
• Execute test scripts using JIRA/XRAY, document results, and raise reproducible defects.
• Support User Acceptance Testing, production releases, research projects, and proof-of-concept work.
• Coach and develop testers, review their work, delegate tasks, and support the Team Lead with workflow management.

Requirements

• Senior testing experience, including delegating work and supporting other testers.
• Strong understanding of testing lifecycles, methodologies, automation concepts, exploratory testing, and Agile practices.
• Experience creating automated BDD test scripts and maintaining or extending automation frameworks and test environments.
• Experience testing APIs with integration tools and a technical understanding of the components and processes under test.
• Knowledge of Cypress, Gherkin, Page Object Model, PactumJS, TypeScript, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, or AWS CodePipeline.
• Meticulous attention to detail and effective communication with developers, technical stakeholders, and users.
