Production Operator (Biotechnology)

What you will do

• Operate fermentation and downstream recovery equipment during batch manufacturing using field operations and Distributed Control Systems.
• Prepare equipment for production, including setup, media preparation, cleaning, sanitization, and packaging.
• Collect and document process samples, execute approved batch records, and maintain accurate production documentation.
• Coordinate daily production priorities, equipment availability, and process-related issue resolution.
• Support continuous improvement, process optimization, equipment reliability, and maintenance work orders.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and site leadership on safe and compliant plant operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree or higher in a scientific, technical, engineering, or related discipline.
• At least three years of experience in manufacturing, biotechnology, chemical processing, food, pharmaceutical, or industrial production.
• Commitment to Environmental, Health & Safety standards and safe work practices.
• Ability to work independently, make operational decisions, use Microsoft Office and basic computer systems, and maintain accurate records.
• Physical ability to climb stairs and vertical ladders, work at elevated heights, and lift up to 55 pounds.
• Willingness to work a 12-hour rotating schedule covering days, nights, weekends, and holidays, and to wear required PPE including respiratory protection.

• Experience with fermentation processes, SOP development, and regulated manufacturing operations.
