Area Service Manager - Ireland (Field Service/Engine Fleet): Leading and developing a regional field service team across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland while maintaining engine fleet performance, contractual availability, safety, quality, and customer service. Focus on planning maintenance, managing 24/7 call-out coverage, analysing performance data, controlling operational compliance, and building long-term customer relationships.
Location: Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, with UK and overseas travel as required

What you will do
- Lead, manage, motivate, and develop regional Service Engineers and Apprentices.
- Plan and prioritise scheduled, preventive, and corrective maintenance for the regional engine fleet.
- Manage contractual availability, performance obligations, decoke and overhaul forecasting, and the 24/7 call-out rota.
- Monitor engineering quality, warranty and chargeable work, risk assessments, method statements, audits, vehicles, sites, and safe working practices.
- Act as the senior service representative for customers, managing site scheduling, performance updates, regular meetings, and chargeable works.
- Report regional performance and escalate operational, contractual, safety, and people-related issues.
Requirements
- Time-served engineer with an NVQ, City & Guilds qualification, or equivalent.
- At least 10 years of engineering experience across electrical and mechanical disciplines.
- Strong knowledge of internal combustion engines and generators, plus CHP and balance of plant experience.
- Proven experience managing remote engineering teams and strong customer relationship management experience.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organisational, IT, and independent working skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Nice to have
- INNIO Jenbacher product knowledge.
- HNC or HND in Engineering, or equivalent.
- Engine commissioning experience.
- Gas Safe registration.
