Data Scientist Lab Automation VIE Contract (AI)

Location: Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Full-time VIE assignment with a target start date of 01/12/2026. The program is available to European Economic Area citizens aged 18–28, and candidates cannot apply for an assignment in their own country of citizenship.

What you will do

• Set up and maintain sample tracking and sample management systems.
• Develop and maintain scripts for file handling and data processing pipelines used by automated laboratory systems.
• Define and design automated data workflows and system requirements with the development team.
• Prepare structured, analysis-ready datasets to support hit selection.
• Manage accurate and consistent data uploads to internal databases.
• Improve lab automation processes and coordinate data requirements with lab operators, lab scientists, and data scientists.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Data Science, Computational Biology, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and relational databases.
• Experience with R and data visualization tools.
• Familiarity with laboratory automation systems such as Hamilton and Tecan.
• Experience with Git, LIMS, or ELN platforms.
• Fluent English, written and verbal, is required.
