Senior Data Scientist (Fixed Term) - (Logistics, Workforce)

Location: Berlin, Germany; hybrid work with attendance at the Berlin campus 2 days a week

What you will do

• Conceptualize modeling approaches for large-scale logistics and workforce optimization challenges with squad leads and stakeholders.
• Develop machine learning, operations research, and statistical solutions for last-mile delivery operations.
• Engineer automated model retraining and prediction-generation workflows through pair programming.
• Collaborate with data science colleagues to solve complex modeling problems.
• Define data requirements and contribute to data engineering and technology roadmaps.
• Process semi-structured and structured data using BigQuery and Spark.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience applying machine learning methods to real-world datasets.
• Fluency in Python and familiarity with NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, Matplotlib, and Plotly.
• Experience solving regression and classification problems using statistical, linear/non-linear, and ensemble models such as Random Forest, XGBoost, LightGBM, and CatBoost.
• Experience with BigQuery or Spark and the ability to write SQL queries.
• Ability to translate business problems into technical solutions and write maintainable, engineering-quality code.

Nice to have

• Experience with time-series forecasting, operations research, and statistics.
