Global Category Manager – Fleet & Transportation Assets

Annual pay range: $110,544–$172,725 USD; annual bonus target: 11%.

What you will do

• Develop and execute sourcing, financing, leasing, and lifecycle-management strategies for global transportation and mobile assets, including railcars, ISO tanks, mobile equipment, and trailers/chassis.
• Optimize asset availability, utilization, reliability, total cost of ownership, lifecycle value, risk, and capital deployment.
• Lead strategic sourcing, RFP/RFQ processes, supplier negotiations, and contract management with suppliers, banks, leasing providers, and financial partners.
• Prepare lease-versus-buy recommendations, capital-planning support, financial models, and evaluations using NPV, IRR, ROI, lifecycle cost, and spend analysis.
• Partner with Finance, Treasury, Accounting, Operations, Engineering, and Procurement on governance, reporting, compliance, and operational excellence, including ASC 842 and IFRS 16 requirements.
• Lead and develop an asset-management and procurement team while using SAP, Lease Accelerator, Power BI, Coupa, Ariba, Keelvar, AI tools, and other digital procurement platforms.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in asset management, procurement, finance, or industrial operations, including experience managing asset portfolios, supplier and banking relationships, leasing programs, and capital equipment.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing global, regional, or cross-functional teams.
• Strong financial and analytical acumen and proactive stakeholder-management skills.
• Immigration sponsorship, including H-1B, F-1 OPT, TN, or other non-immigrant status sponsorship, is not available.
• Must be able to perform all listed duties with or without accommodation.

Nice to have

• MBA or an advanced finance degree.
• CPSM, CPM, CFA, CPA, CFM, or Lean Six Sigma certification.
• Experience with SAP, Ariba, Lease Accelerator, and Power BI.
• Experience in the chemical, manufacturing, energy, or another asset-intensive industry.
