Electrical Construction Project Engineer

Location: San Jose, California; onsite

Salary: USD $24.04–$36.06 per hour, paid weekly and based on experience.

What you will do

• Support the Project Manager and project team across active electrical construction projects.
• Manage project documents, drawings, permits, submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and closeout documentation.
• Prepare electrical take-offs, estimates, budgets, change orders, and reports while tracking project costs.
• Manage purchase orders, vendors, materials, lighting and switchgear tracking, subcontractors, and releases.
• Provide field foremen with project information and material tracking, and coordinate with lighting and pre-fabrication departments.
• Review schedules, summarize time and material paperwork, and support project reviews and O&M preparation.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience in the electrical construction trade, or an equivalent combination of trade, education, and relevant experience.
• Knowledge of construction sequencing, methods, materials, electrical systems, electrical codes, labor agreements, and state regulations.
• High school diploma or equivalent; an AA or BS in Construction Management, Business, or Engineering is preferred or may be in progress.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Bluebeam, with the ability to read architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings.
• Strong organization, communication, reasoning, initiative, adaptability, and teamwork skills.
• Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Accubid estimating experience.
• LEED AP certification.
• OSHA 30 certification.
