Senior Platform Engineer (Generative AI)

Location: Hybrid in Frisco, Texas; candidates must live within a commutable distance of the Frisco office and be available onsite as needed. Remote work is performed from a home office. Relocation assistance is not offered.

Salary: USD $107,430–$176,490 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

What you will do

• Design, build, and scale enterprise Generative AI platforms supporting LLM applications, AI agents, RAG architectures, and multi-model routing.
• Architect secure, cloud-native AI infrastructure across AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, GKE, and EKS.
• Provide self-service AI capabilities through APIs, SDKs, Backstage templates and plugins, and reusable developer tooling.
• Build RAG infrastructure, including embedding pipelines and vector stores such as OpenSearch and Aurora pgvector.
• Develop AI gateway, observability, lifecycle management, and cost-visibility capabilities covering routing, rate limiting, token usage, latency, quality, and reliability.
• Implement AI security guardrails, DevSecOps controls, governance frameworks, release validation, and multi-cloud modernization initiatives.

Requirements

• 10+ years of platform engineering experience, including hands-on AI, ML, or GenAI platform experience.
• Experience with an LLM ecosystem such as AWS Bedrock, OpenAI, or Anthropic, and with AI agents, RAG, multi-model orchestration, or LLMOps/MLOps.
• Strong Kubernetes experience, including EKS or GKE, GPU scheduling, autoscaling, and multi-tenant isolation.
• Strong Python and Go programming skills, with experience using FastAPI and gRPC.
• Deep AWS expertise including IAM, VPC, and KMS, plus Terraform and cloud-native microservices architecture.
• Experience with Backstage, Kafka, CI/CD automation, AI security controls, governance, observability, and enterprise AI gateway patterns.

Nice to have

• Experience with vector databases such as Pinecone or Weaviate.
• AI/ML, cloud architecture, or Kubernetes certifications.
• Experience with MCP, A2A, emerging GenAI orchestration patterns, or large-scale engineering transformation initiatives.
