AI / LLM Platform Engineer

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; hybrid environment with occasional travel to testing sites, customer locations, or conferences up to 10–20%

What you will do

• Design, implement, and optimize LLM gateway, model-routing, and workflow-orchestration platform services.
• Integrate LLMs and AI agents with enterprise systems, data sources, APIs, and existing software platforms.
• Test and validate platform performance under production-like loads, improving reliability, cost efficiency, and scalability.
• Implement prompt management, versioning, and evaluation frameworks to maintain AI output quality.
• Monitor model performance, usage, and costs; optimize routing logic and maintain platform SLOs.
• Collaborate with Forward Deployed AI specialists, software developers, and platform architects while documenting technical designs and supporting compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, applied statistics, engineering, or a related STEM field, plus 2+ years of related experience; relevant experience may substitute under the stated conditions.
• Practical experience building and operating APIs at scale in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Hands-on experience integrating at least one major LLM provider and deploying software services to production.
• Proficiency in Python and at least one additional programming language; TypeScript or Go preferred.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and GitOps workflows.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. government authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience with generative AI models, transformer-based LLM architectures, LangChain, or LlamaIndex.
• Experience with prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, MLflow, or similar experiment-tracking tools.
• Knowledge of Agile, DevOps, FinOps, CMMC, or FedRAMP practices.
