What you will do

  • Develop a forward-looking vision and analytical frameworks for challenges facing the transforming electric grid.
  • Apply power system simulation results to planning studies, operational analyses, and grid transformation initiatives.
  • Develop documented simulation workflows, case management practices, and automation pipelines for reproducible large-scale studies.
  • Research emerging generation, transmission, distribution, and grid technologies and assess their impact on hirify.global.
  • Propose protocols, guides, and procedures for emerging solutions and market participation.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and build partnerships with research organizations, universities, industry consortiums, and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of job-related experience beyond degree requirements, including 8 years in electric power grid operations or planning.
  • At least 8 years of hands-on experience with mathematical optimization, simulation engines, and open-source development.
  • Deep expertise in at least two simulation domains, including power flows, SCOPF, production cost modeling, or capacity expansion modeling.
  • Strong knowledge of numerical solvers and optimization engines such as CPLEX, IPOPT, and Gurobi, including LP, MIP, QP, and NLP formulations.
  • Ability to formulate, implement, and debug optimization models for OPF, unit commitment, dispatch, and resource adequacy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mathematics, operations research, or a related field; proficiency in Python or C/C++ and GitHub required.

Nice to have

  • Master’s or PhD in electrical engineering, mathematics, operations research, or a related field.
  • Experience with AI development toolkits.
