Content Creator (Streaming Television)

Salary: $20–$23.50 per hour, depending on experience.

hirify.global operates KGET, a local broadcast and streaming news station in Bakersfield.

What you will do

• Produce shows and streaming content for the KGET+ CTV platform, including original programming.
• Package broadcast and digital news stories into engaging short videos, photos, and combined CTV shows.
• Curate local, regional, national, and Nexstar content into a 24/7 schedule based on audience interest and engagement data.
• Monitor print, television, digital, blog, and social media sources to identify breaking, exclusive, and trending stories.
• Collaborate with newsroom staff, management, and engineering on enterprise content, promotion, and streaming studio needs.
• Train station members in streaming studio operations and oversee the streaming production calendar.

Requirements

• Experience producing traditional broadcast news.
• Creative understanding of streaming television and the ability to develop that potential into programming.
• Technical knowledge of creating episodes and publishing them to a streaming application.
• Ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive relationships with newsroom staff and management.
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed and perform the physical and repetitive tasks required for indoor studio and newsroom work.
