Salary: €34,700–€55,430 annual base pay, plus an annual bonus or sales commissions depending on the role and location.

What you will do

  • Provide first-line on-site technical support for ophthalmic surgical systems in hospitals, clinics, and ambulatory surgery centers.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, safety checks, troubleshooting, repairs, installations, commissioning, and equipment validation.
  • Implement mandatory upgrades, performance improvements, and technical modifications across the ophthalmic installed base.
  • Work directly with surgeons, nurses, and operating-room staff to ensure equipment readiness and resolve critical customer situations.
  • Monitor system performance, identify technical risks, manage service documentation and spare parts, and support complaint handling.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Equipment Management to promote service contracts, upgrades, and other service solutions.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in medical electronics, biomedical engineering, electronics, electromechanics, or a related field applied to medical devices.
  • Field service experience in the medical device industry; experience with ophthalmic, surgical, or operating-room equipment is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in hospital operating rooms is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in the local language and good professional English, spoken and written, are required.
  • Strong customer-facing skills, technical thinking, autonomy, and the ability to work in clinical environments.
  • Based in Barcelona or the Catalonia area and available for approximately 70% travel, including occasional short-notice travel within EMEA.
