Power Systems Engineer Sr - Grid Analysis

Location: Hybrid in Taylor, Texas; on-site at least 2 days per week, with remote work permitted only from a Texas residence.

Salary: $109,000–$150,000 per year, based on experience and level.

What you will do

• Perform steady-state power-flow simulations using PSSE, VSAT, PowerWorld, and related tools.
• Evaluate Constraint Management Plans, Remedial Action Schemes, regional power transfers, and wide-area cascading risks.
• Develop and maintain the hirify.global Black Start Plan, including resource selection and system restoration planning.
• Assess generator and transmission equipment performance against reliability requirements and forecast future needs.
• Develop system models, procedures, tools, and recommendations to address current and future operating issues.
• Serve as a technical subject matter expert, mentor engineers, lead multifunctional teams, and participate in stakeholder meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 5 years of experience as a power systems engineer or similar role within the electric utility industry.
• Experience with power-flow simulations and electrical power-system analysis.
• Programming or scripting experience.
• Ability to make independent decisions and resolve complex engineering issues.
• Ability to work on-site in Taylor, Texas at least 2 days per week; remote work must be performed from a Texas residence.

Nice to have

• Graduate degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
