Senior Manager, DevOps & Cloud Engineering (AWS)

Location: New York City, NY; onsite. Full-time role in a 24/7 operational environment, including required flexibility for overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Salary: $113,000–$220,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow the DevOps & Cloud Engineering team, including senior individual contributors.
• Define and evolve cloud engineering standards, DevOps practices, automation strategies, and operational best practices.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and operation of scalable cloud infrastructure, developer tooling, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Drive automation and modernization initiatives that improve software delivery quality, speed, stability, security, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering, information security, systems administration, networking, and external stakeholders.
• Manage budgets, monitor team KPIs, ensure data privacy and security compliance, and support web, mobile, and backend services in a 24/7 environment.

Requirements

• 8+ years of related experience, including 3+ years in technical leadership or management.
• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and working knowledge of Azure or GCP, including services such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, CloudFront, and Route 53.
• Strong experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK; Docker and Kubernetes; service mesh, distributed tracing, and automated certificate management.
• Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, SonarQube, Artifactory, Linux administration, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, and observability/APM tools.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, Bash, or Groovy, with git-based workflows, troubleshooting, process improvement, and cross-team communication skills.
