Reporter, Multimedia Journalist (Broadcast Journalism)

What you will do

• Research, develop, report, write, voice, shoot, and edit local news stories.
• Gather information through interviews, public records, research, and attendance at relevant events.
• Pitch story ideas and collaborate with producers and news managers to establish priorities.
• Produce and present reports for broadcast, web, social media, and other digital platforms.
• Review and revise copy for accuracy, grammar, editorial style, timing, and production quality.
• Interact with viewers and users through social media and complete special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field, or equivalent education and work experience.
• Fluency in English and excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to ad lib when required.
• At least two years of news reporting experience, depending on market size.
• Superior on-air presence and the ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and manage multiple tasks.
• Proficiency with computers and standard office equipment.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Flexibility to work any shift.
