Embedded Software Engineer (IoT)

hirify.global’s Ring team develops camera-centric security devices and supporting firmware.

What you will do

• Develop and deliver firmware for new and existing Ring camera-centric devices.
• Design and implement significant device features and integrate new hardware and software services.
• Optimize device performance, including battery life, boot time, system latency, and other critical KPIs.
• Manage a personal backlog, prioritize issues, and investigate complex technical problems.
• Collaborate with partners, colleagues, and teams across Europe, Asia, and the US.
• Provide proactive technical communication and leadership while supporting product delivery.

Requirements

• Professional, non-internship software development experience.
• Experience with embedded development in C/C++.
• Programming experience in at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#.
• Knowledge of object-oriented design, architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Experience contributing to the architecture and design of new and existing systems.
• Ability to work through the full product delivery lifecycle and manage changing priorities.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience with coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
