Retail IT Engineer Lead (Retail Technology)

Location: Milano, Italy; willingness to travel across Italy and EU regions with overnight travel is required.

What you will do

• Own feature development, operations, on-call support, incident analysis, release hardening, and monitoring for POS, clienteling, store reporting, and payments.
• Launch and scale new stores and relocations by coordinating POS devices, payment terminals, clienteling iPads, configurations, integrations, security, and acceptance testing.
• Integrate payment, POS, and clienteling platforms, aligning SDKs, APIs, and compliance requirements.
• Support omnichannel store experiences such as BOPIS, ship-from-store, and remote selling in partnership with OMS and eCommerce teams.
• Manage vendors and external partners providing hardware, software, and network services.
• Maintain dashboards for latency, error budgets, device health, and store uptime; prioritize improvements and align releases with trade and holiday peaks.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of IT experience, including 6 years in a retail-focused environment.
• Proven experience managing and deploying modern POS systems and retail applications.
• Strong understanding of retail operations, store infrastructure, and customer-facing technologies.
• Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent English and willingness to travel across Italy and EU regions with overnight travel.
