Postdoc - Robotics and Embodied AI (Robotics)

What you will do

• Conduct fundamental and applied research in embodied AI, agentic AI, and robotics.
• Develop software-focused research including robotics foundation models, world models, and simulation environments.
• Investigate hardware-focused problems in robotic perception, control, manipulation, and physical interaction.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across the laboratory and with academic and industry partners.
• Develop research ideas, publish findings, communicate outcomes, and contribute to proposals and collaboration building.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in computer science, computer or electrical engineering, or a related science, engineering, applied mathematics, or statistics field, awarded within the past five years.
• Ph.D. must be received by the commencement of employment.
• Strong theoretical and practical experience in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and robotics.
• Demonstrated publication record in AI/ML and/or robotics.
• Excellent programming and computer science skills.
• Ability to work fully onsite at hirify.global in Upton, New York.

Nice to have

• Experience developing novel AI/ML models and working with foundation models, agentic AI models, or robotics simulation environments.
• Hands-on experience with robot electronics and components, including sensors, motors, controllers, and power systems.
• Experience with 3D modeling, 3D printing, custom hardware, soldering, diagnostics, and mechanical customization.
• Experience training, evaluating, and deploying large AI/ML models in HPC and cluster computing environments.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary collaborations.
